Pendleton May Extend Tourism Promotion Tax

PENDLETON, OR -- Pendleton Tourism officials are preparing to lobby the City to extend a tourism promotion tax.  The Tourism Promotion Assessment Charge add $1.50 for every guest in a hotel bed and 50 cents per motor home.  The tax reportedly generated just more than $200,000 in the 2010-11 fiscal year.  The city council created the tax in 2007 and in September extended it to 2014.
