Friends, Family Remember Clackamas Shooting Victims
CLACKAMAS, OR -- Family and friends gathered at a cold and damp Clackamas Town Center Wednesday evening to remember two people killed during last year’s shooting. On December 11th, 2012, Jacob Tyler Roberts, 22, entered the packed mall and opened fire. He shot and killed two, injuring a third, before turning the gun on himself. At Wednesday’s candlelight vigil, family members remembered Cindy Yuille and Steve Forsyth.
“Steve was passionate about many things in his life; his work, his life and giving back to his community. Steve was very active coaching many youth sports, as well as working with several charitable organizations,” said Paul Kemp, Forsyth’s brother-in-law.
“My mom’s spirit, her kindness, her warmth, along with her strength and her courage is something that I will hold on to,” said Yuille’s daughter, Jenna Passalacqua.
Authorities said Roberts used a stolen semi-automatic AR-15 rifle in the rampage. There were about 10,000 people inside the mall when he opened fire.
