BEND, OR -- When it comes to holiday parties, it's great to let someone else do all the cooking. But, before you call for a caterer, the Better Business Bureau says it's important you watch for the traps that can ensnare consumers. The BBB's Katherine Kisiel said it's important to start with a budget, and stick to it.
"Are you going to need full service? Are you going to need partial service? And always get everything in writing. This comes down to the cost of the party, the price per person, food, drinks, also keep in mind how much its going to cost to set up and tear down."
Kisiel added it's important to get everything writing; not just prices, but times, locations, and expectations. She also said it's good to check the BBB for business that may have complaints or past consumer problems.
