Prineville Working To Control Weeds

PRINEVILLE, OR -- The City of Prineville continues its Weed Control Treatment program.  Scott Smith, Public Works Director, said 90% of their efforts focuses on alleys.  The rest involves roadway shoulders and the airport.  Smith told KBNW News Prineville residents can help in the final days of the Treatment program by keeping neighborhood alleys clear.

"That's always been a difficult situation for us to navigate around when people store anything from car parts to knickknacks out in the alleyway, and their fence may be kind of fallen over, so it's kind of hard for the contractor to do a professional job if there's a lot of obstacles in those alleys."
Smith said if the weather cooperates, the Weed Control Treatment program should wrap up by the end of Monday.
