Three Rescued After Boat Capsizes Off Coast

NEWPORT, OR -- The Coast Guard has rescued three people after their boat capsized off the coast near Newport.  Two boat crews responded quickly Wednesday after the commanding officer of the Coast Guard station at Yaquina Bay saw the boat flip after it was hit by the wake of a passing vessel.  The commander, Lt. Robert Ornelas, says the quick response was a good thing since none of the three wore life jackets.  The rescuers got the boat turned right side up and towed it to Newport Marina.
The rescued trio was reported in good condition.
